JOE DE FRANCAIS
Bonjour tout le monde!
This is my first attempt to study French, rather any sort of a foreign language that’s out there. It’s an exhilarating experience to study a new language – little difficult – but wholly fulfilling. Why study French? Why not study German, Mandarin or Japanese that will help you land a handsomely paying Job? The answer is very simple – French always captured my imagination and I always had an ear for French.
Right from the time when French revolution was taught in my junior classes and to the more contemporary and turbulent times when Robert Langdon started the wild goose chase for the chalice from the corridors of “The Louvre”, I was in love with French. I have imagined so many cold nights spent on the banks of the Seine , and so many springs on top of the Eiffel. I have imagined my self in the Musée du Louvre, countless hours gazing awe struck at Mona Lisa, works of Raphael and Michael Angelo.
Alors, my love for French has always been influenced by the fact that French is a Romance language that could trace its roots to Latin – the language used by the Romans.
My vocabulary at this stage is very limited and pathetic at the best, and nothing could be said better about the pronunciation. But what to fear, I know enough French to order a beer, a Sandwich , a Coffee and a Mineral Water!!
“Une biere et un sandwich et un café et un Perrier, s’il vous plait”
This means one beer, one sandwich one café and one Mineral water, Please!
And who cares about Sandwich , coffee and Mineral Water?
Merci. Au Revoir. A Bientot
ho ho........
