WHEEL OF TIME
Poetic justice – two seemingly inconspicuous words- two words that everyone reads and forgets as soon. But it held another opportunity for me and my blog. I decided to write a poem. It was very difficult for me to decide on a theme, and pat came the idea; it was the old grandfather clock that helped me – the nine chimes was the most wonderful sound that was there for my ears. Time. It was on time that I was going to write. It was then another roadblock appeared. Was it to be a Carpe Diem, a Terza Rima, a Quatrain, a couplet or a sonnet? Sonnet held more fascination for me as it was the preferred form of the poetry used by my favorites – Shakespeare and Oscar Wilde. Some body once said India is a country of road blocks. It seemed to me that the spurious foreigner at last might be true: A good sonnet has to have 14 lines and have to follow very stringent rhyming.
